I don’t remember the last time I went to Kalibo Airport
Last week, I traveled to Manila to attend a conference for work and stayed with my cousin in Calamba, Laguna for a week. The last time I was there was back in 2017 during a college tour.

It was an amazing time. Travelling different places, and trying out some awesome food along the way. I don’t have many pictures during my time there except when I was at the conference, but I’ll try to describe the places I went to in detail 😂
SM Calamba
After arriving at NAIA, and having some lunch, we settled down at the place where I would be staying. After a couple of hours, it was time to head to our first destination, SM Calamba!

Never really was an arcade goer when I was a kid, but watching them play was pretty cool.
Conference day at SMX Convention Center

This was the first conference I’ve ever attended after graduating college. The experience was surreal. The snacks and coffee were really good, the topics designers from big companies such as Meta, Netflix, and Grab presented were amazing, as well as the goodies hundreds of people including me were able to bring home!

University of the Philippines Los Baños

One of the foods I wanted to bring back home for my folks (their request) was mushroom chips. We traveled to Los Baños, specifically, to the UP campus there as that was where they were selling mushroom chips.

Aside from that, I was curious about their Carabao’s milk, and a popular pastry shop just outside the campus so we bought some for me to try out.
Making a new furry friend

One of the things that made me excited going back to the place I was staying, was the owner’s cat Lemeow (derived from LMAO. Witty!)
He would go inside our room from time to time to get attention and some ear scratches ❤️
Cuyab Hot Springs

Friday, we woke up early to travel to Cuyab. Popular for the numerous hot springs that it has. It may look like an ordinary pool, but it has no chlorine and it’s connected to a hotspring making the water really warm and relaxing.

I’ve never felt so relaxed! Cuyab will definitely be my go-to place the next time I go to Laguna.
Bonifacio Global City

Saturday, it was a rainy trip to BGC, Taguig. The weather made traffic pretty bad, but it was all worth it once we got to our destination.
Marugame Udon

For lunch, we went to a restaurant called Marugame Udon. Their food there was heaven! I ordered a tempura, deep-fried sweet potato, an onigiri, and beef udon. The beef was so flavorful, and the side dishes I ordered were icing on the cake!
Fully Booked
Our next stop was Fully Booked. I only had one thing in mind that I really wanted to purchase. Comic books! Specifically, Deadpool Comic books.

Videoke in Malate

Before my flight back home on Sunday, we stayed in Manila overnight to enjoy a night out at Malate in a Videoke bar called Music 21.
Their Crispy Pata and Pancit was really good paired with beer, and amazing company!
Going back home

Going back home after an amazing trip always leaves me feeling a little sad. Looking back at all the places I went to, the food I tried, and the things I’ve experienced, I know there are so many places I haven’t been to yet. If only I had more time.
But if there’s one thing I’m sure about, this is a trip I’ll remember for years. I can’t wait to go back again if I get the chance next year!
